Throughout our 30-year history, the Massachusetts Public Interest Research Group (MASSPIRG) Education Fund has played a key role in the state's major public interest issues. Highlights of our recent achievements include requiring tobacco companies to sell only self-extinguishing cigarettes; resolving hundreds of consumer complaints regarding merchant fraud; and protecting consumer from unfair auto insurance practices.
With public debate around important issues often dominated
by private special interests pursuing their own narrow agenda,
the MASSPIRG Education Fund offers an independent, articulate
voice on behalf of the public interest. The MASSPIRG Education
Fund, a 501 (c)(3) organization, works to promote consumer protection and good government in
the state of Massachusetts. We investigate problems, craft
solutions, educate the public and offer citizens meaningful
opportunities for civic participation.
